Summary: When we arrived it was freezing in the house. We were not aware it was just the one old gas type furnace in the living room, it took a while for the rest of the house to heat up. I will say the owner was so kind and amazing. I was worried about carbon monoxide detectors since we have a little daughter, he said he thought they were in the fire alarms. About 10 mins later received a text that he would drop some off to be safe with a space heater. The smell when you walked in was an overpowering air freshener. Almost trying to cover something up. Our daughter has asthma so does not do well with that. We found the air freshener and unplugged it. The smell of the water was a BIG issue. My parents have well water, so we are aware of a sulfur type of smell. This went beyond that. It was so potent and foul. If someone took a shower you could smell the water in the living room. I feel there has to be an issue with the water. So every time you washed your hands or turned the water on it was a jolt. We ended up leaving a day early as it really was not for us. Understand that it is in the woods so there will be mice, but there were droppings everywhere which made it feel like it had not been cleaned in a while. The coffee filter had been left in for sometime as there was furry moldy coffee in it. I cannot say enough good things about the owners. The fishing spot, my husband loved. This is de a hunting cabin for those not really caring about aesthetic or cleanliness. Felt overpriced.

Summary: The cabin was perfect for our family. It is well stocked and equipped with everything you would need to enjoy your stay. The beds were comfy, the couches not so new that you feared using them, and outside furniture was perfect for a pleasant evening among the stars. The seclusion and trails to explore were huge bonuses. The only downside is we needed more time. We came for the Forest Festival, but enjoyed the cabin time just as much. We would have loved to have used the kitchen for more than coffee and quick breakfasts! We explored the trails, hung out at the pond, watched the wildlife, and caught up with each other. What a great place to stay. We hope to return!

Summary: We really enjoyed the stay. Patti's directions to the cabin were very precise. The Tanner's stopped by to be sure we had everything we needed and discovered that Helen and my wife were old friends. The cabin was very well stocked and everything we needed (except food) was there. My wife and I really had fun fishing in the stocked pond. We hope to be able to come stay here in the future.

Summary: I loved everything about our stay here. We have such busy lives that it was really great just to get away from it all. The property was very secluded and all inclusive in terms of fishing and hiking trails. The property was absolutely amazing!

Summary: We spent Christmas at this property with our 5 kids. There was plenty of room and plenty to do without ever leaving the property. To say this was a memorable Christmas would be an understatement. The owners and office staff went out of their way to make this a special vacation getaway. The property is very well kept. There are deer feeders with corn to feed them. Our children enjoyed feeding the deer and watching them come out in the evening. We were able to shoot skeet at the small lake and even fished a little. We did some sleigh riding on trash bags and hiked through the snow on the many trails on the property. Very peaceful and relaxing. I would highly recommend this property. The satellite TV and internet are a nice added touch for those who might not want to be completely out of touch, but that becomes your choice. This property is worth every penny!

Summary: My hunting buddies and I recently rented Tanners farm for the West Virginia rifle season. We had had a very successful hunt four bucks and seeing many more deer. The cabin was very well supplied with every thing we needed pots, pans and other essentials. The cabin has a very nice kitchen and the livjng room was large and comfortable. The property is beautiful with many trails and comfortable box stands. I would recommend Tanners Farm for a short get away or a week to get back to nature. We met the owner Jim Tanner and his son Justin who were extremely helpful and couldn't have been more helpful. They came out and showed us around the property and gave good info on hunting there. Cant wait to get back there. Don
